An Afternoon at the Whitney

An Afternoon at the Whitney

Emma Bates

The Whitney Museum is the museum closest to me, in fact it's quite literally at the top of our street. Whilst Katie was visiting me for the weekend we decided to make the most of a sunny afternoon and venture up the road to check out the Whitney.

It was such a great way to spend a few hours. There's the most incredible exhibition on currently, located on the top floor by Laura Poitros. It's called "Astro Noise" and it displays the complex realties of the post 9/11 world through a series of video installations, official documents and imagery. Having studied the War on Terror in meticulous detail during my final year at King's College, I was completely fascinated by the way she had displayed everything. We spent a good hour just viewing everything in this exhibition alone - highly recommend checking it out whilst it's still on!

Here's a couple of photos I took on my phone while we were there!
