202 Cafe, Notting Hill

202 Cafe, Notting Hill

Emma Bates

The 202 cafe is situated on Notting Hill's Westbourne Grove. It's one of the classic brunch spots along there, only matched by Granger & Co and Daylesford Organic.

The interior reminds me a little of Paris and I don't know if I'm missing something obvious and it's actually mean to represent a shabby-chic Parisian cafe but whatever let's roll with it anyway. The walls are adorned with awesome portraits of well known people, such as Jack Nicholson with a cigar. The tables are close together and there's a lot of them hidden away behind a huge book stand filled with fashion, art and other quirky books. There's most definitely always going to be a queue but it's well worth waiting in as the excellent people watching will pass the time quickly.

I recommend the french toast, the poached eggs and also the lamb burger is incredible. The other day I met with a friend for a catch up there and tried their sweet potato hash with poached eggs which was delicious.

202 will remain a Notting Hill classic and one of my go to brunch spots for as long as they remain open! Go check it out.
