Capturing a Girly trip to Portugal

Capturing a Girly trip to Portugal

Emma Bates

At the beginning of October I headed off to Portugal with some of the most wonderful girls I know. I'm one of the contributors for World of Wanderlust, founded and run by the fantastic Brooke Saward. Brooke and I worked out we hadn't actually seen each other in person in a year so being reunited in Lisbon was very exciting. We were joined by another Emma (WOW Australia Contributor) and Rachel (WOW Europe Contributor) for a fun filled, girly getaway. So I thought I'd share a couple of snaps that I took on my film camera whilst we were away. You can read more details over on World of Wanderlust in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!

The first 2 days we spent staying at the gorgeous Four Seasons hotel in Lisbon. Staying true to a girly trip we indulged in spa treatments, brunch and exploring the city! If you're visiting the city then you should definitely check out Alfama, it's the most beautiful area of Lisbon. Cobbled streets, coloured houses and hidden alleyways, it's a photographers heaven. Whilst you're there you should also make a trip to Belem, where you'll find the very best Portugese custard tarts. Whilst in Lisbon you also have to make a trip over to Cascais and Sintra for a little explore. When we were in Sintra it was very foggy so it made the place feel even more magical.

After a few days we drove from Lisbon down to the Algarve for an incredible stay at our own private villa at Vila Vita Parc, it was so beautiful and felt like we were waking up in heaven every morning. October was the perfect time of year to go weather wise, the days were warm and sunny whilst the evenings were cool. The Algarve has such beautiful coastline, I couldn't recommend going enough.

So without further ado, here are some of the images I captured along with the video Brooke made of our trip there!

There's nothing quite like a girly trip away with a bunch of some of the best ladies I know.

Let me know your favourite places in Portugal!
