Mini Bar, Lisbon

Mini Bar, Lisbon

Emma Bates

I just got back from an amazing trip to Portugal with a group of the loveliest ladies I know. I'm a weekly contributor over on World of Wanderlust and we headed over to Lisbon and the Algarve for a 5 day WOW trip. We stayed in Lisbon for 2 nights and the Algarve for 3 nights.

On our second night in Lisbon we headed out to try Mini Bar, the gastronomic delight from Michelin starred chef, Jose Avillez. Mini Bar is set in a laid back atmosphere and you will be in for a treat upon being seated at your table. You can order either tapas style dishes to share or opt for the a set menu of '6 Acts', each act contains a number of complimenting dishes. Some are bite sized and others are more substantial but absolutely everything is a play on your senses and completely incredible. You can ask for the vegetarian option too if you wish! The food is incredibly reasonably priced for the quality of what you'll be eating. Brooke and I opted for the vegetarian menu whilst the other two girls chose the normal menu. If you choose vegetarian you will be presented with tempura avocado as one of your dishes, which was perhaps the most delicious food I have ever eaten. Definitely going to be attempting to recreate it!

We all agreed at the end that it was one of the best meals we'd ever eaten. I cannot urge you enough to go and check this place out! Lisbon is such an up and coming city, you can see it's about to kick off so go check it out now and be sure to visit Mini Bar whilst you're there!
